After playing at shows, donating fees, making social media campaigns and challenging their colleagues in In Flames to collect money to Musikhjälpen previous years Corroded starts this year's campaign by pre-releaseing the single "Retract And Disconnect” on Bandcamp where all the revenue will go to Musikhjälpen and the anti trafficking cause.
"It is extra important to us to show that we support Musikhjälpen's cause this year. We live in a reality where poor children dreaming of a better future are forced into human trafficking where they're sexually exploited and abused every day. In our work with Musikhjälpen we'd like to show that we endorse the cause "Children are nor for sale" and bring this up with our audience." says singer Jens Westin.
The lyrics for "Retract and Disconnect" is about a hard situation where you try to focus on something else to stand the horrible things your being exposed to. This is something that can be applied on a victim and a perpetrator, but also on the society that chooses not to see or talk about these horrible situations and crimes.
About Corroded
Corroded is a Swedish hard rock band that has topped the music charts in Sweden and whose songs are worshipped by fans around the world. This spring they released their fourth album Defcon Zero. After touring relentlessly the past spring and summer, Corroded released the acoustic EP "The Nevo Sessions".
This fall the band is working with a campaign for Musikhjälpen with the single "Retract And Disconnect". October 26th they'll get out on a European tour with PAIN.
The band is well known since the debut 2009 when the track "Time and Again" was used in the Swedish version of Survivor (Expedition Robinson) and in 2010 the band won ‘Breakthrough of The Year’ at Bandit Rock Awards. When the next album, ‘Exit to Transfer’, hit the stores it went straight in at number six on the Swedish album chart. Corroded then wrote "Age of Rage" for EA Games, a song that would be featured as the theme song for "Battlefield". "Age of Rage" subsequently achieved Gold status, generating several million streams.
