Tickets for The Rolling Stones two London concerts went on sale yesterday and sold out in record time. It took a mere seven minutes for fans to snap up all the tickets when ticket outlets opened up for business at 9am. The Stones ticket rush came the morning after the band attended the world premiere of a highly acclaimed new documentary film, ‘Crossfire Hurricane’ at the London Film Festival.

In an unprecedented demand for tickets in their hometown, the sold out signs were posted up at 9.07 am yesterday for The Stones - ‘50 and Counting’ shows at The O2 Arena London -the world’s most popular venue with a capacity of 16,000.

Last week Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood confirmed their long awaited return to the stage with four spectacular arena shows on both sides of the Atlantic. Two staged at the Prudential Center, Newark NJ plus another two in London at the O2 Arena.

The final Stones show, on December 15, will be telecast live via pay-per-view at 9pm ET courtesy of Dainty Group and Endemol.  The pay-per-view entitled “One More Shot” will be distributed by WWE, the world’s pre-eminent provider of pay-per-view programming.

In celebration of five decades, The Rolling Stones will release the GRRR! album on 12 / 13 November, a Greatest Hits collection which includes two new songs ‘Doom and Gloom’ and ‘One More Shot’. The film ‘Crossfire Hurricane’, directed by Brett Morgen, will premiere in the U.S. at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York on 13 November and then broadcast via HBO on 15 November. In the UK it will be shown on BBC TV over two weekends also in November with exact dates tba.
