Eilera has a metal music background. She has been among the French pioneer composers to bring elements of Pop music, electronic and Celtic folk music inside the Heavy-Rock genre.
She release a new single and a music video Sea Widow which are part of her upcoming album Waves, a peculiar sonic experience in her discography, to be released on March 6th 2020.

Sea Widow, the story :
Sea Widow is the most dramatic song of the album. It is the story of a woman, the wife of the captain of a fishing boat, in a village of Scotland. We meet her on the same day that she receives the news of the death of her husband.
In the opening lines of the song, she is standing in her kitchen, staring at the sea. She wants to believe that her husband is coming back. Yet her heart is telling her another truth that she is not yet ready to hear.. Will she sink under a heavy wave of despair, down to the bottom, or will she defy the Sea ?
Sea Widow is a song about staying strong and dignified in times of personal loss and adversity.
Sea Widow is part of the Waves experience, the fifth album of Eilera. The peculiarity of this album in her discography, is to be built over a basis of acoustic Rock, turned into a pure, strong and modern-sounding sonic experience. Eilera proves here again that strength in music is not necessarily linked to adding many layers.

In Sea Widow can be heard Eilera’s ability to compose visual music, via guitars that carry the movement of the Sea waves, a contrabass that conveys the depth of the sea and luminous vocals and arrangements that bring light to this musical yin yang.
The video that accompanies the song was directed by French director Luc Chavarro. It shows Eilera interpreting the song partly as herself and partly as the sea widow, with her feelings evolving from expectation to sadness, to rage and to re-found peace, as she meets a personified Sea who took her husband’s life, in a final confrontation.
