Neues Video "Medvetslös" von Från Mars
Swedish band Från Mars releases new single and video for the song Medvetslös.

Medvetslös which means unconscious in swedish is a psychedelic rock song driven by distorted bass, uninhibited vocals and analog vision that contributes to a dystopian soundscape. The song came about when the band took inspiration from heavier rock to develop their sound. They had just welcomed a new member with a background in industrial techno to the band, which opened up for creative extravagances.

“The idea of recording this video took off when we, as a gift from above, found an old Hi8 camcorder that gave us exactly the feeling we were looking for in a music video. We wanted to create a slight feeling of discomfort, uncertainty and to a certain extent, desperation. The amazing people at JAQ studios let us borrow a room in their basement that was full of old animal skeletons and dolls, in other words absolutely perfect for the song and the feeling we were looking for. Behind the camera is Nora Löwenberg, a Umeå-based artist who did a fantastic job of capturing the song and the place's atmosphere in the basement. Editing and aftereffects was done by Alexander (drums) who color-corrected it in to look like a 70's horror movie"
BIOGRAPHY
It all started in the north of Sweden at a party in 2018. After a long conversation about band tattoos and music, Alexander (drums) and Edvin B (guitar) decided to start a band together. A few parties later, Joel (bass), Sandra (vocals), William (guitar), Edvin L (synth) joined in on the fun and Från Mars was a fact. In the summer of 2020, Från Mars participated in and won the finals in P4 Radios music competition “Next” with the song Hej KP, produced by Kjell Nästén.
Från Mars is a band that loves to play live and has done a number of gigs in the Umeå area and arranged gigs together with other bands outdoors in the forest. The music is influenced by several different rock genres and shaped by the Swedish mentality with a romance to the wild nature. Themes in the texts are often existential but sometimes also with a comic or absurd twist open to self-interpretation and reflection. Bands that inspired the sound include Black Sabbath, Tool and Swedish 70s prog.
When they released the single Marsfolk in the autumn of 2020, the band was discovered by the local record company Idle North and in February 2021 a collaboration began. Medvetslös was the first single released together with the label.
