Sänger Nik Seren erklärt: "Dall-E is a machine learning system that generates pictures from "prompts", or natural text. You type in a string of words and it generates an image based on its interpretation of "everything out there". So I typed in the lyrics phrase by phrase and let it generate the images, with some tweaks. I told it to do all the images in the style of "digital art" to keep consistency. But it can manage Monet or watercolor too. The AI still interprets stuff a bit too literal or a bit too suggestive so one has to tweak the words a bit. The result is quite astonishing. Really suggestive and some of the images I couldn't use since they were just too creepy... And I mean creepy... Anyway - it was a fun way to do a lyric video on a low budget. And the images are...well.. ours now... one of a kind. Can never be recreated."

BIOG:
Ever since Hong Faux's very first recorded notes started their journey from blog to blog, to magazines, and finally all the way to the radio and MTV, people have tried to label the music and try to figure out the meaning of the band's name.

First things first. A London promoter called it "Old school super sludgy riffology with blues wailin' vox". Listening to the songs "Present Tense-Less" and "Bad City Blues" on their debut album, it would be foolish to argue against such a statement. On the other hand you'll find the sound that brought together four guys with very diverse musical tastes and backgrounds. One of the things the band members all dig on the same level is the harder bands that came out of Seattle in the early nineties. So, all put together, with a few added ingredients, you get the heavy stoner riff galore with strong melodic vocal parts that honor the harmonic complexity of the grunge era.

-“ Our ambition is to combine the guitar riffs from the 70’s, the grunge scene’s more melodic arts from the 90’s with modern rock. We have always enjoyed pop choruses and were convinced that the harder rock crew would think we were wimpy. But we were wrong… I guess even the cool dudes likes to be tickled on the thighs every once and a while…”
- lead singer Nik Serén.

2012 the debut ”The Crown that wears the head” was released and immediately resonated with the rock crowd, especially in Germany. The album was exceptionally well recieved in media and lasted the full eight weeks allowed on the German Rock and Metal DJ Chart and was praised by magazines like Classic Rock, Slam and Metal Hammer. The band was even invited to do a one hour TV broadcast at the legendary Rockpalast, sharing the bill with Rival Sons.

In late October 2015 Hong Faux released their second full length album “A Message from Dystopia” which musically, as well as lyrically, takes a good look at modern life through the lens of someone on the fringe of society. The album was co-produced by Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames) and the sound was even bigger and heavier than their debut, while at the same time containing even catchier songs attracting a wider audience. The record got top reviews in Europe with Classic Rock Magazine Germany setting the bar with the headline: “Hits, hits and more hits”

“We’ve never been afraid of being accused of not being ‘real’ - we’re real. We make hits because we’re good at it and humans have a predisposition for good melodies - even the ones that deny it.”

The four-piece has done shows all over Europe, sharing stages with such diverse bands as D-A-D, Clutch, Graveyard, Danko Jones, Coheed and Cambria and Babyshambles. 2022 will see the release of new material, developed sound and live shows. You can count on Hong Faux delivering both weight and melody. Just like they always do.
