Wayfarer - das neue Album ab 20. November
Vesperian freut sich, die Pre-Order für das kommende Album von WAYFARER, Riders of the Setting Sun, zu eröffnen.
Zeitgleich mit dem Start der Vorbestellung präsentiert die Band die neue Single des Albums „Hollow Hearts On The Trail To Eden“ (Track 7) zusammen mit einem offiziellen Musikvideo. Der Song ist ein düsteres, melancholisches Herzstück, getragen von einem epischen Gitarrensolo. Er handelt von einem erschöpften Reisenden, der sich mit Zweifeln, Verrat und der Last seiner eigenen Fehler auseinandersetzt, während der Winter naht – ein leeres Herz, das er im Schlepptau trägt und das mit seinem Namen begraben wird.

Mit Riders of the Setting Sun betritt WAYFARER zudem Neuland. Zum ersten Mal von Ben Chisholm (Chelsea Wolfe) produziert, mit James Barone (Beach House) und Iver Sandøy (Enslaved) für Aufnahme und Abmischung, verwebt das Album Elemente aus Post-Punk, amerikanischem Folk und Rock ’n’ Roll zu dem Sound, den die Band über ein Jahrzehnt hinweg entwickelt hat – ein leiser, aber bewusster Schritt jenseits der Extreme-Metal-Szene, die sie ursprünglich geprägt hat.
Das Artwork des Albums stammt von dem gefeierten Künstler Tony Stella, der für seine Arbeiten im Bereich der Filmplakate bekannt ist. Stellas Cover für Riders of the Setting Sun zählt zu seinen letzten Werken vor seinem Tod Anfang dieses Jahres – WAYFARER und Vesperian fühlen sich geehrt, mit ihm zusammengearbeitet zu haben.
Riders of the Setting Sun wird als Digipak-CD, Kassette und Vinyl-LP erhältlich sein, wobei letztere ein eigenes LP-Booklet und einen OBI-Streifen enthält.
