TYGERS OF PAN TANG - neues Studioalbum veröffentlicht

NWOBHM legends return with a heavier, riff-driven statement that reconnects with the spirit of their early years.

TYGERS OF PAN TANG have released their brand-new studio album, “Electrifyed”, today, 11 September 2026.

More than 40 years after helping define the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, the legendary British band return with an album that puts the emphasis firmly on what has always been at the heart of their music: heavy riffs, strong melodies and the unmistakable Tygers identity.

From the outset, “Electrifyed” was conceived as a record that would embrace the heavier side of the band’s sound. The writing process deliberately looked back towards the raw energy of the Tygers’ formative years, while allowing the current line-up to bring its own chemistry and experience to the material.

““The heavier, the better” - that was our mantra throughout the writing and recording of “Electrifyed””, explains singer Jack Meille. “We wanted to rediscover the pleasure of being driven by the powerful force of a heavy riff without losing that melodic touch all great Tygers songs have”.

That approach is particularly evident in the album’s riff-led character, which recalls the directness and energy of the band’s landmark debut, “Wild Cat”, without attempting to simply recreate the past. “Electrifyed” instead uses those early influences as a foundation for a contemporary Tygers Of Pan Tang record.
The album also marks the first Tygers Of Pan Tang studio appearance of guitarist John Footitt, who joins founding guitarist Robb Weir, vocalist Jack Meille, drummer Craig Ellis and bassist Huw Holding. Footitt’s playing adds another dimension to the band’s guitar-driven sound and contributes to the album’s powerful and muscular character.

Behind the production is Marco Angioni, a longtime friend and collaborator of the band, who worked closely with the Tygers to capture the weight and impact they were looking for while keeping the songs’ melodic qualities firmly intact.

The visual identity of “Electrifyed” was once again created by Andy Pilkington of Very Metal Art, whose artwork reflects the album’s uncompromising heavy metal approach.

For founding guitarist Robb Weir, the new album is also a celebration of the musical legacy that the Tygers helped create: “It’s time to honour the musical movement that we helped to start - the ’New Wave of British Heavy Metal’. This is a brand new Heavy Metal album from us, steeped in the late 70’s, flavoured from the 80’s and ready for consumption right now!”

With “Electrifyed”, Tygers Of Pan Tang celebrate their roots without being confined by them. The result is a new chapter for one of the NWOBHM’s most enduring bands: heavy, melodic and unmistakably Tygers.
