“Polaris” is a vibrant, modern symphonic metal duet featuring Chris Harms of Lord of the Lost and a clear dichotomy of light and dark, grief and hope, and torture and resilience.
Front singer Zoe states:
“After years of admiring Chris’ uniquely honed skills and boundary pushing innovation, it’s a dream come true to share vocal duties with him in a duet about the things that motivate us most in life. I can say without hesitation that Chris is one of my favorite voices of all time, and no one else would have suited this song better. Thank you, Chris, and thank you Lord of the Lost for years of inspiration!”
Catalyst Crime, known for its grand fusion of symphonic splendor and metallic force, first emerged in 2017 as the creative vision of vocalist and composer Zoe Marie Federoff, drummer Gerit Lamm (Angus McSixx, ex-Xandria), and guitarist Kaelen Sarakinis. Joined by orchestral composer and keyboardist Jonah Weingarten (Pyramaze, Aries Descendant), bassist Matt Federoff, and guitarist Chena, the band quickly found their footing under the production of Alexander Krull (Leaves’ Eyes, Atrocity) at Mastersound Studios in Stuttgart, Germany.
Their self-titled debut album, released in 2021, earned widespread acclaim for its blend of cinematic arrangements and melodic metal power. Following extensive touring across Europe and the UK alongside Leaves’ Eyes in 2024, Catalyst Crime entered the studio once again to craft their long-awaited second full-length, “Acquired Immunity”. They completed a second European tour in 2026 and filmed and released three videos to accompany the album’s singles” “Cursebreaker”, title track and newest single, “Polaris”.
“Acquired Immunity” promises to elevate Catalyst Cime’s symphonic metal identity even further — combining genre-bending compositions, vibrant orchestral scoring by Weingarten, and the renewed creative spark brought by the guitar duo Chena and Kaelen Sarakinis, alongside an all-star guest lineup including Chris Harms (Lord of the Lost), Lindsay Schoolcraft (Antiqva, ex-Cradle of Filth), James Dorton (Ne Obliviscaris), and more.
