The idea came about two years ago, when Psychopunch were approached by a label in Argentina and invited to contribute to a Sex Pistols tribute album featuring several other bands. The band immediately agreed, and with “Satellite” being the only song left to choose, they decided to take it on and give it their own rough-edged twist.
However, as the tribute album kept getting postponed, Psychopunch eventually decided not to wait any longer. Instead, they put together a video that would fit the song and chose to release their version as a single.
Formed in 1998 in Västerås, Sweden, Psychopunch have spent more than two decades delivering their own blend of punk rock, hard rock and rock’n’roll. Their sound combines gritty guitars, catchy melodies and raw energy, drawing on the spirit of classic punk while maintaining a strong rock’n’roll edge.
The band released their debut album, “We Are Just As Welcome As Holy Water In Satan’s Drink”, in 1999 through White Jazz Records, a label also associated with The Hellacopters, The Nomads and Gluecifer. Since then, Psychopunch have released twelve studio albums, including “The Pleasure Kill”, “Original Scandinavian Superdudes” and “Sweet Baby Octane”.
Their latest studio album, “Greetings From Suckerville”, came out in 2019 via Massacre Records. Over the years, Psychopunch have also played major European festivals, including Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze and With Full Force, and toured across Europe and Scandinavia.
