“I felt lonely and content at the same time.
I believe that is a rare kind of happiness.”
-Stephen King, Bag of Bones
Tom’s nexTTime EP starts with the death of Tom.
Bag of Bones Goes through a self dialogue of Tom finding himself in a coffin, outside the concept of time.
Facing the end and realising nothing happening was something he was prepared for he decides to let go into the abyss and find out how deep the end goes, unsure if this is his last state conscience or the first in another place.
The song soundtracks the thought process of Tom: the quiet and open ambients of the verse driven by grooves represents the last feeling of heartbeats, disappearing into conscience very time the dialogue moves into acknowledgement (the chorus). The looped like structure represents the feeling of second guessing yourself, even when the answer is clear. This patterns explodes into noise and dissonance the moment Tom let go, symbol of welcoming new and unknown and leaving all thoughts and opinions behind.
Title parallels with Stephen Kings novel “Bag Of Bones” where the character is guided by the voice of a past lover to find reason.”
